55% OSINT POLL: IRAN-U.S. NAVAL BATTLE LIKELY OR WILL HAPPEN!

The results of last week's OSINT News POLL question  "WHAT'S THE LIKELIHOOD OF A U.S.-IRAN NAVAL BATTLE IN THE STRAIGHT OF HORMUZ?" results are in. A total of 47 people voted and 44% of them thought a U.S.-Iran naval battle was unlikely, 23% thought it was likely, 14% thought it very likely, and 17% indicated it will happen. So, 55% of respondents believed such a battle in the Straight of Hormuz is likely to happen or will,  indeed, happen:

NOT LIKELY 21 (44%)
LIKELY 11 (23%)
VERY LIKELY 7 (14%)
IT WILL HAPPEN! 8 (17%)

The video (below) records a verbal confrontation between the Iranian frigate Alvand and the USS Kidd (DDG-993). Let's hope these verbal confrontations don't escalate!



Despite the bellicose verbiage from Iranian leaders and their threats to blockade the Straits of Hormuz, the rescue of the Iranian fishing vessel by the U.S. Navy this week represented a vindication of the Navy’s operant guiding doctrine, which conceptualizes seapower as positive sum, rather than zero sum. The rescue shows us that national and international ends are not necessarily in conflict. OSINT News offers this account of that rescue:
