I encourage everyone to watch the documentary "Spymasters: CIA in the crosshairs"
which will air this Saturday (November 28th) at 9pm on the Showtime network. As a member
of the Association Of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO), I am often frustrated with the pessimistic portrayal of the CIA
emanating out of the minds of various newspaper journalists, TV anchormen/women
and Hollywood producers.

This archetypal portrayal of a "cynical" CIA is absent in the "Spymasters"
documentary. It was written by Chris Whipple and directed by Gedeon Naudel, who interviewed
all 12 living CIA directors and top CIA agency operatives. Both men changed their
heretofore dubious opinion of how the CIA operates after producing the
documentary, and the result appears to be a factual account of the true feelings
and mental turmoil the CIA staff experienced in their attempts to keep
American's out of harm's way.
In today's world of increased terrorist recruitment and attacks, we all should encourage and applaud such truthful and civilizing reporting of the CIA and the rest of the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) whenever and wherever it appears.
